🌟 Project Vision:

Today, when teenagers use Instagram to connect, explore, and express, they often encounter pressure, comparison, or content that affects their mental health. This is unacceptable because Instagram shapes digital identity for Gen Z, and emotional safety must be as important as engagement.

We envision a world where teenagers feel in control of their digital space, understand their boundaries, and feel uplifted rather than drained by their interactions. We are bringing this world about through context-aware nudges, reflection checkpoints, emotion-first settings, and safety-by-design product features.

🎯 Goal:

To reduce negative emotional incidents among teen users by 25% over 6 months by introducing proactive safety tools, emotional well-being nudges, and peer transparency flows.

🏒 About Instagram:

Instagram is one of the most popular platforms among Gen Z and Gen Alpha, with over 2 billion monthly users. For teens, it is both a creative outlet and a social lifeline. But research from internal studies and independent bodies has revealed significant links between excessive Instagram use and body image issues, anxiety, and peer pressure.

Instagram has added tools like comment moderation, sensitive content filters, and time limit reminders. However, these are often reactive, not preventive. The opportunity is to reframe Instagram as a space where emotional regulation is designed into the platform.

🚧 RDCL Strategy:

R - Reality: Teens spend 3-5 hours/day on Instagram but report increased anxiety, FOMO, and self-esteem drops after use.
